New Delhi, July 4 (IANS) India's top woman 400m runner Deepanshi has been suspended by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) after testing positive for anabolic steroids during the recent National Inter-State Athletics Championships, held at Panchkula, Haryana. Deepanshi had secured a silver medal in the event, clocking an impressive 52.01 seconds in the women's 400m final.

Monaco, July 3 (IANS) Just three weeks ahead of the upcoming Paris Olympic Games, World Athletics has ratified the women's marathon world record set by Peres Jepchirchir earlier this year. Kenya’s Jepchirchir rewrote the record book as she ran 2:16:16 to improve the women-only world marathon record by 45 seconds at the TCS London Marathon.

Panchkula (Haryana), June 28 (IANS) Seasoned woman javelin thrower Annu Rani bagged the gold medal in her discipline but could not dip under the Olympic Qualification mark in the 63rd National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships 2024 here on Friday. Asian Games champion Annu Rani won the gold medal in the women’s javelin throw with a best effort of 57.70m but failed to achieve the qualification mark of 64m. The Inter-State Athletics is the final qualifying event for the Paris Olympics for Indian athletes.
